to limit obtrusive noise in open plan work space.

Silent Space has been developed in order to control the ambient noises in a shared workspace. It spreads a soft and neutral signal which improves the acoustic comfort of the room and the acoustic environment of each work station.
Silent Space system is placed in several locations to achieve a homogeneous result. Silent Space signal is produced by small speakers called difusers. The latter are controlled by a unit fitted with a sound scanner. This unit is called a controller.
By this sound masking method, we succeed in decreasing the inteligibility of distant conversations. We also cover disruptive noises such as : conversations and noises of people, noise from technical devices (air conditioning, printer, …).
Silent Space® helps:
- Speech privacy: by decreasing the intelligibility of distant conversations
- Concentration: by reducing the discomfort caused by noise peaks
- Performance : by improving concentration periods
- Comfort : by making each work station less sensitive to noise variations
Direct actions on psychological and social hazards:

The diffuser
translates the data delivered by the controller and diffuses the masking signal of Silent Space®. Informs on the quality of the room’s acoustic comfort.
The controller
analyses and transmits to diffusers the analysed room’s acoustic data in order to adapt the sound and luminous signal.
Its implementation
Silent Space® is implemented via the use of standard lamps. Only a power supply is required. The installation does not require additional construction work.
The Silent Space® system :
(in this example, 5 diffusers fitted with collective noise luminous indicators and a controller).

Silent Space® is implemented via the use of standard lamps. Only a power supply is required. The installation does not require additional construction work.
Pre installation
- Anonymous survey on the noise level of the areas concerned
Device installation
- Device presentation to the users
- Silent Space® system configuration (calibration measurements)
- Set up
Installation follow-up
- Phone follow-up (weekly planning the first month)
- Anonymous feedback form (after two months of use)
- Implementation assessment presentation

« Silent Space, luminous indicator of collective noise».
FUNCTION: Communicating the amount of noise in a particular area and informing about excessive noise level.
- A true prevention tool
- Visually simple and dynamic (blue, orange and yellow colour coding).
- Gives a relevant and accessible indication of the space’s sound environment.
- Puts the employee into a position of responsibility for his/her health and safety.
- Involves the managers into the issue of health and safety.
